Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How often do I need to refill the fountain?
The Freedom Pet Fountain holds up to 5 gallons of water in its reservoir. Most homes only need to refill it every few days, while larger dogs or multi-pet households may require more frequent refills.
How do I clean the fountain?
All major components are dishwasher-safe and designed for easy access. Simply remove the bowl insert, rinse, and run it through your dishwasher. The triple-density foam filters are replaceable and should be swapped every 2–4 weeks, depending on use.
What makes this different from other dog fountains?
Most fountains are noisy, messy, or grow slime quickly. The Freedom Pet Fountain is designed to solve those problems with:
- UV-C sterilization to kill bacteria, viruses, and algae
- Triple-density foam filters to trap hair and debris
- Ultra-quiet circulation that keeps water fresh without noise
- Splash-free design to keep floors dry
- Easy-to-clean components for simple maintenance
Is it suitable for large dogs?
Yes! With its wide 12.6″ drinking bowl and 5-gallon reservoir, the fountain is ideal for big breeds and multi-dog homes. Smaller dogs can also use it comfortably, but please note the bucket stands 13″ tall.
Is the pump noisy?
No. The whisper-quiet pump circulates water smoothly without loud humming, so your pets stay relaxed and your home stays peaceful.
How does the UV-C sterilizer work?
The built-in 3-watt UV-C bulb runs continuously to kill bacteria, viruses, and algae that can make water slimy. This ensures your pet always has clean, fresh water.
What’s included with my order?
Each fountain comes with:
- Freedom Pet Fountain base + reservoir
- Triple-density foam filter (installed)
- Built-in UV-C sterilizer & pump
- Stainless steel pipe
- Pipe cleaning brush
Sold separately: Replacement filters, UV-C bulbs, and brushes
Note: 5-gallon bucket not included
How much power does it use?
Very little. Both the pump and UV-C bulb are energy-efficient, drawing a combined 11 watts. That’s only a few cents per month to operate.
Where is it made?
The Freedom Pet Fountain is assembled in the USA using a mix of domestic and imported components. Design, testing, and quality control are all done in San Pedro, California.
How long do the filters last?
Foam filters typically last 2–4 weeks, depending on the number of pets and how often they drink. Replacement packs are available in our shop.
How long does the UV-C bulb last?
For best results, it is recommended to replace the UV-C bulb every 12 months.
